Weight loss and exercise a Myth: Muscle turns to fat when you stop exercising!
Muscle and fat are two completely different tissues. The muscle is produced by water and protein, while fat from fat. You can not magically return one to the other or vice versa. Mind you, if you stop exercising your muscle mass is disappearing, your metabolism slows down and a depressed metabolism makes it harder to lose weight.
Even when people exercise more often, they continue eating as they were before (if they had more muscle and a faster metabolism) and what happened to come to contract their muscles and fat stored around it so it looks as if the muscle fat is.
The way to avoid this is to simply eat less when you exercise more.
